Bible Verse - John 15:5 - I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear
much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

What you will need - A semi-powerful magnet & paper clips

Jesus told us in John 15:5 That He was like a vine & we were the branches of that vine. If we remain in Him, we will be able to accomplish & do lots of good things in our life, but if we do not remain in Jesus, then we will not be able to do anything.

But how do we remain in JESUS? What does that mean? It means that we have to obey JESUS, and follow HIS ways. If we know how to read then we read our Bible, we pay attention in Sunday school, we pray everyday, & do our best to do what's right. That means obeying our parents, no talking back, behaving ourselves in school, & not doing what we know is wrong even when other kids are doing it.

When we remain in JESUS by obeying Him & learning all we can about Him it charges us up & gives us power to do good things in our life.

take out your magnet & paper clips. Pick the paper clips up with the magnet and continue speaking.

See how these paper clips are on the magnet? While they are on the magnet something is happening to them. The paper clips are being charged up. The paper clips are actually getting power from the magnet!

Remove the charged paper clips from the magnet. Pick up one paper clip and begin picking up the others using the one as a magnet.

See how these paper clips became charged up like a magnet just because they were on the magnet? That is how it is when we spend time with JESUS, learning about Him & following His ways. We get charged up with power to do lots of good things for The Kingdom of Heaven.

continue to speak until the magnets lose their charge and begin to fall.

We have to remain in JESUS at all times, and follow His ways everyday, & pray everyday. We need to be charged up on a regular basis through prayer, reading The Bible, & learning all we can about JESUS. If we are not charged up everyday then we will lose our power & become powerless. It's not just something we do on Sundays, or once in awhile, we have to follow Jesus everyday.

recharge the paper clips by picking them up with the magnet then remove them & use the paper clips as magnets again
