Sergeant Cornbread: (enters) Attention! Who’s ready to do push-ups and march uphill while carrying boulders that way fifty pounds? I hope everyone is warmed up!

Granny Grace: (enters with a sigh) Not this again. Nobody will be doing any of that. Fifty pound boulders? That’s as much as some of these children weigh.

Sergeant Cornbread: They may be small, but they’re strong.

Granny Grace: Nevertheless…

Melody: (enters) Good morning, everyone. I was here earlier, but I didn’t come out because I definitely did not want to carry fifty pound boulders.

Carlos: (enters) Me either! Can I ask you a question, Sergeant Cornbread?

Sergeant Cornbread: Affirmative. You can ask me anything, Carlos.

Carlos: Well, you’ve been out of the army for many years now. I was just sort of wondering why you still act like a soldier.

Sergeant Carlos: I never really thought about it much, but now that you bring it up, the truth is I miss it.

Melody: You miss doing push-ups and running uphill carrying heavy stuff?

Sergeant Cornbread: That part, not so much, but it did make me stronger. I liked the feeling I had when I put on my uniform and knew that I was a part of something good. That uniform told the world that I represented a good and mighty force.

Granny Grace: You still represent a good and mighty force. Every Christian in the world represents God and all of Heaven. There is none greater or stronger than God. As a Christian, we’re not only soldiers, but ambassadors for God.

Sergeant Cornbread: Roger that! Every ambassador of God has an important mission to boldly tell others about Jesus.

Carlos: I know the most important mission in life is to tell others about Jesus, but what is an ambassador?

Melody: An ambassador is someone who represents a country. Countries will send their ambassadors to other countries to speak on behalf of the entire nation.

Granny Grace: That’s right, Melody. We represent God and we are ambassadors of Heaven. After Jesus died on the cross and came back to life three days later, he spent time with his disciples and gave them and us the authority and mission to represent Heaven and lead others to Jesus.

Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority of Heaven and on Earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:18-20.

Melody: Matthew 28:18-20 is our Bible verse. I already memorized it.

Sergeant Cornbread: Good job, soldier!

Carlos: How canI teach others to obey everything God commanded when I’m only a kid?

Sergeant Cornbread: You’re young, but you are still an ambassador for God. You have God’s spirit living within you, making you fearless so you can boldly tell others about Jesus.

Carlos: I love that, but how do I teach them to obey God?

Granny Grace: The best way to teach others to obey God and how to  live their life is to show them through the way you obey God and live your life.

Sergeant Cornbread: Affirmative. You lead by example. When you are kind to others and show them the love of Jesus, they will see an example of Jesus. Your life will be a lesson to all those around you.

Melody: I love being an ambassador for God and knowing that God trusts me to carry out such an important mission!

Carlos: Me too. It’s pretty awesome. I need to make sure to memorize my Bible verse, Matthew 28:18-20. It’s a long one, but I know I can do it.

Melody: I can help you right now. Let’s go. Bye, everyone. (exits)

Carlos: See you next time! (exits)

Sergeant Cornbread: You’re doing a great job, soldiers! Keep it up! (exits)

Granny Grace: See you soon.Granny Grace loves you and so does Jesus! (exits)
